Ryan J. Johnston, P.E., graduated from Michigan Technological University in Civil Engineering and worked as a structural engineer in Juneau, Alaska for five years. During this time, he became an owner of BRD Consultants, LLC formed in 1999. BRD Consultants, LLC provided consulting and design services for residential and commercial building projects throughout Alaska. Ryan moved back to Harbor Springs, MI in 2001 and formed Johnston Engineering, LLC to provide structural engineering for Michigan building projects.

Johnston Engineering, LLC provides structural engineering for residential and commercial projects, new construction, remodels, additions and structural rehabilitation. We utilize the latest design software for efficient design of engineered wood products, reinforced concrete, structural steel and wind and snow loadings. We also offer piling foundation systems, log home engineering, insulated concrete wall engineering, and residential and commercial structural inspections.

Ryan Johnston is a member of LTAHB, ASCE, ASPE and is a volunteer firefighter and training captain for the Harbor Springs Fire Department.
